The Goblin King

Be he conniving dictator, noble savage, fearless savior, or misguided revolutionary, none would call Verdigris the Goblin King a fool.

Goblins have long been deemed the Banished Race, forced to live in solitude as punishment for their alliance with The Dark Lady two milennia ago. Some believe they were once men, disfigured by their curse into the visage of mole-rats. Pale, clammy skin, foggy black eyes, large bat-like ears, and razor-sharp claws encompass the description of goblin-kind. At best, they make good slaves to send deep into the furthest reaches of the Mines of Fray in search of the most precious ores. At worst they are cannibalistic bandits who prey on the weak. They are to many an utterly savage folk. Some even call them monsters. It is no wonder then that given their fraught existence that some of the more scholarly among them--because it is known that golbins are capable of speech and complex thought. Some even read our books and study in our universities--would incite the idea of liberation. There now exists a growing goblin consciousness. A new goblin political ideology: Verdigrism.
